Congrats to Cheyenne Woods and Glen Woods (daughter/father) triathletes from Mayes County for the participation in the Claremore Tri last weekend. Glen reports that Cheyenne finished 4th even though she was bumped up and competed with 18 and 19 year olds. Glen finished 16th in his age division. A good showing for our local folks.
A reminder about the Flower Power ride in Muskogee this Saturday. I’m planning on going. Call me at 825-4555 if you want a ride. The ride begins and ends at Honor Heights park. Should be really pretty there as all the azaleas are blooming….along with other things!
Local ride is 1:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon. We’ll meet at Whitaker Park’s southwest corner. Come join us….we did 20 miles last weekend…and although we tried to stay out of that south breeze (25 mph) we hit it a few times…good training for summertime Oklahoma riding!
And the bicycle quote for the week…..

Thanks for the note, Cheyenne was mad about not winning her age group, but I told her she just needs to get faster.
THe Flower Power ride is fun, I have done it a couple of times. We won’t make it this year because we are running the OKC Memorial Marathon on Sunday.
Don’t forget that the Tour De Tulsa is next Saturday, I think I may try to ride that. I will be trying to get in several 100-150 mile rides in on the weekends over the following weeks in Preparation for Ironman Lake Buffalo Springs in June and Ironman Louisville in August. If anyone wants to join me, drop me an email.
