Quote of the Day….

“A bicycle does get you there and more…. And there is always the thin edge of danger to keep you alert and comfortably apprehensive.  Dogs become dogs again and snap at your raincoat; potholes become personal.  And getting there is all the fun.”  ~Bill Emerson, “On Bicycling,” Saturday Evening Post, 29 July 1967

Just a quick reminder that Pryor’s premier bike event, Dam J.A.M., is next Saturday, Sept. 6.  I know for a fact that we are attracting many new riders this time, and I’m so happy about that!

If you can’t bike and would like to SAG, please contact Jim Beach.  According to Jim, “I can arrange to get you a vehicle if you don’t have one suitable for the job. We’re paying for gas. You get a free lunch, t-shirt and immeasurable satisfaction and our undying gratitude.”

Here’s the website for Dam J.A.M.

And here’s the contact information for Jim Beach.

AND….don’t forget that the M.A.S.H. unit with HotLips, the Colonel, and a full compliment of “nurses” and “doctors” await you at the top of Pumpback Hill.  You can enjoy an MRE (peanut butter sandwich), a saline infusion (pickle shots) and glucose therapy (watermelon).  Plus, there’s always a stretcher if you really need it, and almost everyone who makes it up Pumpback does.

Come join the fun on Sept. 6th.
